![]() I have to give it to DOS that at least its fights are thought through and can be finished in reasonable amount of time. The only thing I can do is kite enemies and spam with aoe. I enjoyed it in the beginning, but the harder content I do the more tedious it becomes. I've had fights that without me dying took over 30 minutes, some even an hour because there were 20-30 mobs to kill and because starting a fight suddenly triggered everyone in the floor even behind the door. Some fights drag incredibly, I had no idea some fights would have such an mounts of trash mobs and they take forever to kill on potd. I went with turn based and I'm almost 100 hours in, done the majority of side content but still have plenty to go, however I am mostly unhappy with turn based. I know it's been a while, but since I was on the fence and perhaps others might be too, I thought I'd share my experience so far. After a while i become impatiend and its easier to just let everyone autoattack outleveled or easier mobs than just killing them one by one. I enjoyed dos2 a lot but you are a little bit more flexible there. This is the exception, though, most fights are very fun indeed. Takes a ton of time to move every single one of your characters down there, one by one in turn based. Also there are spectres who abduct one of your party members to another point on the map. Turn based can become annoying later on, there are some battles with tons and tons of trashmobs. ![]() Pause function is handy, though, same as in poe1. Real time can become chaotic and hard to manage depending on your choice of classes. There are differences of corse, some stats and items become obsolete in turn based while others become pretty powerful. Both modes work fine, pick whichever you prefer.
